Experience psychological research methods in action! In our research lab you have the opportunity to experience the measurement of your heartbeat. This plays an important role in research into stress.

In our CHAMP research laboratory in the Department of Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology, we use many different psychological research methods. One of these is measuring the heartbeat to investigate stress.

Stress occurs frequently in everyday life and is also quite normal in many situations - for example before an exam. However, if stress is always present, it can increase the risk of mental illness. It is therefore important to understand which situations trigger stress and how it develops. You can ask people about their stress or measure it directly in the body. For example, you can see under what conditions it decreases or is there permanently.

During the Long Night of Science, you will have the opportunity to find out more about measuring the heartbeat as a method of researching stress and try it out for yourself. To do this, you put on a chest strap with the sensor attached and wear it for a few minutes. We can then look at the recording of your heartbeat together and answer your questions.

We look forward to welcoming you to our laboratory!

Target group: All interested parties are cordially invited.
