Various possibilities of additive manufacturing (3D printing) are being investigated at ifw Jena. In particular, we are researching and optimizing methods for processing metals. These processes can be used to produce components with internal cavities and complex structures that would not be possible using drilling or milling. This offers great advantages for many industrial applications.
Our additive manufacturing systems will be running during the Long Night of Science and can be viewed by you. We will show you different 3D printing processes and what these processes can achieve. For example, we can print wooden and gold Christmas tree decorations for you.
You can also have yourself and your children 3D scanned by us and take a digital image of yourself home with you.
