Space weather events can disrupt communication with satellites, e.g. for GPS. This is why scientists are developing complex methods to better understand and predict these phenomena. This results in huge amounts of data, for which we are developing interactive visualization software in order to be able to record and analyse the data quickly.
DLR is the national aerospace research center of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, energy, transportation and security is integrated into national and international collaborations.
At the DLR Institute of Data Science in Jena, we focus on the entire life cycle of data, starting with the acquisition and collection of high-quality data, its efficient and sustainable management and its subsequent analysis to extract the most relevant information.
