"Clouds fly higher during the day than at night" – is that true? Even without background knowledge, there are statements that you tend to believe and others that you are initially skeptical about. Note the significant role of the voice speaking.

In everyday life, we often hear statements that we have no idea whether they are true or not. In the "General Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience" department, we are investigating, among other things, which characteristics of the voice have an influence on whether a statement tends to be believed or not. We have compiled a whole list of such statements and are now looking for people to record them for us so that we have a wide range of different voices to choose from for our studies in the future.

Such a recording takes 5-10 minutes and you can send it to yourself by email afterwards. If you then tell us your age and, above all, whether you believe the statements you have recorded, your voice will become part of our next study. At the same time, you can take a short break from the hustle and bustle of the LNDW in our soundproof audio lab, take a look at the technology for a professional sound recording and, if you are interested, experience how your voice can be transformed or distorted.
