What do data scientists actually do all day?

Time
22:30 - 23:00 o'clock
Organizer
Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt – Institut für Datenwissenschaften
Place
DLR-Institut für Datenwissenschaften
Adresse
Mälzerstraße 5

We reveal the methods of our experts using illustrative examples and practical insights!

How do the researchers at the Institute of Data Science spend their working time? What topics do they deal with? What methods do they use? Based on data from the Institute, the lecture will provide clear answers to these and other questions.

Afterwards, you can also visit our fascinating experimental stations. Discover the impressive possibilities of modern drone technology with VR goggles, test our noise simulator for electric aircraft engines, explore our FieldMApp for sustainable agriculture and discover the pitfalls of training artificial neural networks (AI).

DLR is Germany's national research center for aeronautics and space. Its extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, energy, transportation and security is integrated into national and international collaborations.

At the DLR Institute of Data Science in Jena, we focus on the entire life cycle of data, starting with the extraction and collection of high-quality data, its efficient and sustainable management and its subsequent analysis to extract the most relevant information.

BY THE WAY:
For young and old explorers alike, our DLR_School_Lab (Leutragraben 4) offers exciting experiments in space and data science in parallel. Among other things, they can discover their fascination for STEM subjects at the Mars rover station, by examining meteorites or with our 3D printer.
