The power of infrared (IR) lasers enables the locally precise processing of a wide variety of materials.

The focused laser beam can be used, for example, to create microstructures, gradually remove surface layers, vaporize dirt and impurities or even initiate the bonding of chemicals. We will demonstrate exactly what happens during these processes and the wide range of possible applications on site and create small souvenirs for you to take home with you.

Note
Take part in our hourly laboratory tours and take a look at the research focuses of our other departments!
Restriction
Laboratory tours take place in small groups
