How clean is my water? How do I make my plants happy with sensor technology? Which substances threaten our drinking water? Where is water everywhere? Experience innovative water research from Thuringia at interactive stations.

The supply of clean water is one of the greatest social challenges of the future. New alliances between research, business, the public sector and civil society are needed to avoid water scarcity and the associated potential for social conflict. Technological innovations such as new methods of water treatment or smart water monitoring are just as much in demand as social innovations.

The Thuringian Water Innovation Cluster ThWIC, the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS and the Sensor Space - the MI(N)TmachLabor are bringing cutting-edge water research projects to the Long Night of the Sciences. At the joint stand, the researchers will be presenting innovative materials, technologies and systems for a more sustainable use of water.

Put on your VR glasses and become an employee in the waterworks yourself. Program your own intelligent flower pot. PFAS, microplastics, drug residues - find out more about innovative methods of water purification. Learn more about water cycles in a network game. Bring your own water sample and analyze it on site.
