Navigate light through the laser maze, test your precision in the RGB Laser Challenge or compete in laser chess. Enjoy holographic chocolate or create your own metasurfaces from LEGO.

Experience the fascinating world of optics and nano-optics in a playful way: the Collaborative Research Center NOA and the International Research Training Group Meta-Active invite you to an exciting and interactive event under the motto "Light Games at the Nanoscale". It offers unique insights into current research and a variety of hands-on activities for young and old explorers.

Laser labyrinth: an adventure for the senses
Navigate through our exciting laser labyrinth! Try to steer the laser beam around obstacles to the target without touching them. This interactive experience is not only fun, but also shows how precisely light can be controlled and manipulated with different mirrors.

RGB laser challenge: precision and skill
Test your skills in our RGB laser challenge! Bring multiple RGB lasers to a point using dichromatic mirrors. This activity illustrates the basics of light manipulation in experimental optics and gives you an insight into the technologies used by our scientists. There is a prize for the best.

LEGO metasurfaces: creativity meets science
Get creative and build your own metasurfaces out of LEGO! This child-friendly activity playfully explains the complex concepts of metasurfaces, which can manipulate light based on various properties. Young scientists and curious children are invited to join in and learn more about the fascinating world of nanotechnology.

Holographic chocolate: a treat for all the senses
Let our holographic chocolate surprise you! This special chocolate impressively demonstrates how light and matter can interact in a creative way. It is not only a treat for the palate, but also a visual highlight.

Science up close: insights into research
In addition to the hands-on activities, you will have the opportunity to find out all about the research carried out by the NOA Collaborative Research Center and the Meta-Active International Research Training Group Take the opportunity to talk directly to our scientists and gain exciting insights into their work.

For children aged 6 and over, young people and adults and anyone who enjoys experimenting with light.
