The Vogtland pioneers' Gipstex project is developing various foam plaster formulations. In the project, the gypsum foam is filled into multidimensional textile structures. The textile wall and ceiling elements are to be used for building renovation and conversion.
During the Long Night of Science, visitors can try out the recipes in the foam plaster kitchen. Together we will produce a foam plaster from plaster and foam. We add self-luminous pigments in various colors to the foam plaster. Phosphorescent materials glow in the dark when charged with light. Phosphorescent luminescent materials form the basis for this. The mixture can then be filled into Christmas tree half shells and decorated. A little patience or a stay in a drying cabinet at Innovent and the self-luminous pendant is ready.
We have prepared this hands-on activity with the support of MFPA Weimar.
