Get to know the work of the ZEISS archive, test your skill at stacking files and write with pen and ink as Carl Zeiss did 170 years ago.

Original documents, files, photos, patents, utility models, printed matter, technical documentation and devices from over 170 years of history are stored in the ZEISS archive.

Our services include answering inquiries about devices, people and events, reproducing photographs on the history of Carl Zeiss and making copies of advertising materials, instructions for use and other printed materials. We also take care of the rental of old equipment for museums and exhibitions.
Of course, we also carry out our own research for research and publication projects in the archive.

We look forward to answering your questions and giving you an insight into our work. Find out more about the project "Writings by Carl Zeiss, Ernst Abbe and Otto Schott - digital on the Internet". Young and old alike can try out for themselves how pen and ink were used 170 years ago.
