Microscopes don't always have to be huge. With us, you can build your own microscope and immerse yourself in the world of cells. Discover DNA - and get the slimy noodle out of its cell nucleus with simple household products.

At ThIMEDOP, everything revolves around the application of state-of-the-art optical methods in medical technology.

The Thuringian Innovation Center for Medical Technology Solutions is working on the future of medicine in order to provide patients with better and more modern care. This requires close cooperation between doctors and technicians in a clinical environment. This cooperation is promoted and supported at ThIMEDOP.

Microscopy is an important component of modern medical technology. Microscopy makes small things big. Here you can make your own little microscope and immerse yourself in the world of cells and tissue.

DNA - the slimy noodle in our cells. With us, you can get the DNA out of its hiding place in the cells using simple household products.

DNA contains the blueprint for life and is safely stored in the cell nucleus. With just a few household chemicals, DNA can be extracted from cells and made visible, even rolled up like a noodle. What does the blueprint of life actually consist of and what does the Cas9 gene scissors do with it? You can find out more about this fascinating topic here.
