Our presentation will take you on a short excursion into the world of glass and how SCHOTT masters the everyday challenges of glass development.

Glass is something brilliant, as we have known ever since it was first used. The possibilities of combining almost all chemical elements in this material with its strangely disordered structure are diverse and almost unlimited. Materials with surprising properties are possible because this disorder is not completely random. A short excursion into the world of glass will show how the challenges in glass development, production and application can be mastered with modern chemistry, physics and the ancient experience of glassmakers.

Speaker: Dr. Thilo Zachau, Head of Analytics
