Take a look around the production technology laboratories. Find out how modern CNC technology is used for milling metals or plastics and for complex 5-axis machining of silicate and ceramic materials.

In the modern optics industry, complex geometries such as free-form surfaces or monolithic components are becoming increasingly important.

Such elements offer various advantages and completely new possibilities with regard to the shaping of light and laser beams compared to classic lenses or prisms. However, the complexity of the components also requires the development and application of modern, CNC-controlled machining processes and high-resolution measuring methods.

In our production laboratories, you can follow the manufacturing process of optical freeforms live using innovative machining technologies and modern 5- and 6-axis machine technology, from ultrasonic-assisted grinding and ultra-fine grinding to polishing. We will also be presenting the latest technology for measuring components using white light interferometry.
