Illustration of the process chain from planning, through the 3D printing process to subtractive post-processing.

Various 3D printing systems for the production of plastic components are demonstrated in the "Add-on 3D printing" transfer center.

In addition to the classic filament process, the laboratory is equipped with large-volume machines for granulate extrusion. This makes it possible to produce components of up to 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 m³ within a short space of time. Various live demonstrations provide a holistic overview of robot path planning, additive manufacturing with process monitoring and subtractive post-processing.

Using the 3D printing process chain as an example, it is thus possible to get to know the process technologies from the 3D data set to the finished component and simulate them under laboratory conditions.
