In times of increasing antibiotic resistance, rapid characterization of the bacteria that cause the infection is becoming increasingly important. We show how new optical and spectroscopic methods can contribute to this.

Using illustrative objects, photos and videos, we demonstrate how bacteria quickly move from the patient sample into the laser focus and what information we can obtain from the spectrum, the so-called optical fingerprint, of the bacteria. Artificial intelligence, in particular machine learning, plays an important role in data analysis.

Venue: House F4, Stand: F44
Time: 18.00 - 22.00 hrs
